Membership

These are the steps involved in becoming a voting member of our church:

 1. Prospective member attends a Newcomer Orientation session

 2. Prospective member acquires a membership packet (at Orientation session or from another staff member or volunteer).

 3. Prospective member fills out a membership card, pledge form, skills and interests survey, and data form...and signs the membership book.

 4. New member has picture taken for biography, newsletter and directory.

 5. New member meets with the minister, who collects biographical data, discusses the skills and interests survey and writes a brief biography "New Member" biography for our newsletter.

 6. New member's status formalized by the Board.

 7. New member receives letter of welcome and membership card from the President.

 8. New member's biography is published in the church newsletter.

 9. Nametag ordered.

10. Minister introduces new member to the congregation at a Sunday service.

11. New member receives invitation to a New Members' Dinner.

12. Program leaders invite the new member to participate in activities or committees in which they've expressed interest.

13. Membership & Leadership Committee follows up with new members to make sure they've connected with one or more groups of interest, and are starting to feel at home.
