Position of Building Engineer

For many years, and particularly since the death of Bill MacDonald, Stu Moore has been our principal repository of expert knowledge on:

a. The construction, electrical, plumbing, heating, telephone system, sound systems, alarm systems, computer interconnection, and other physical details of our 18th St. and 17th St. buildings.

b. The many regulatory and industry code requirements pertaining to the above.

Stu also has been continuously willing to apply that knowledge and expertise in (1) designing, fabricating and installing items, (2) overseeing the work of outside contractors, and (3) collecting or generating documentation pertinent to the above. However, there have been times when an official statement of Stu’s role relative to the Church buildings would have facilitated his dealings with vendors, contractors and regulatory agencies.

Therefore to recognize the role that Stu has been filling for many years, the Board hereby names Stuart G. Moore as Building Engineer for the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Santa Monica. In that capacity, he will work closely and cooperatively with the Church Administrator, Buildings and Grounds Committee and Design and Décor Committee.
