| We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association,
convenant to affirm and promote:

As Unitarian Universalists, we agree that: |
| 1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person; |
1. Every person is important and valuable. |
| 2. Justice, equity and compassion in human relations; |
2. All people Sshould be treated fairly and kindly. |
| 3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual
growth in our congregations; |
3. We should accept one another and keep on learning together. |
| 4. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning; |
4. Each person should be free to search for what is true and right. |
| 5. The right of conscience and the use of the democratic
process within our congregations and in society at large; |
5. All people have the right to speak out and have a say in things that
matter to them. |
| 6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty and
justice for all; |
6. We should help build a peaceful, fair and free world. |
| 7. Respect for the interdependent web of all existence
of which we are a part. |
7. We need to take care of the earth, the home we share with all living
things. |
