Science Non-Fiction Book Group

The Science Non-Fiction Book Group will meet on Tuesday, October 17, to discuss "The Triumph of Seeds: How Grains, Nuts, Kernels, Pulses and Pips Conquered the Plant Kingdom and Shaped Human History," by Thor Hanson. Seeds are not only important in our diets and economy, but also utilize many tricks in order to carry on their species.

Next, on Tuesday, November 21, we will discuss The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness, by Sy Montgomery. The naturalist author offers a very readable blend of personal experience, scientific knowledge and philosophic opinion about what is known and unknown about octopuses.

We will meet in Forbes Hall at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. Contact: Rebecca Crawford.
